In 2024, we received a unique request from the UK. The client, a premium brand specializing in holiday gifts and souvenirs with distribution across Europe, wanted an exclusive container for their new product line—not a traditional round or square shape, but a distinctive form closely tied to their brand story.
“We want customers to recognize our brand just by seeing the container,” they said in our initial discussions, “not only after they open it and read the label.”
Unlike standard containers, every curve and contour of a custom shape must be precisely captured in the tooling. The main technical challenges included: stress concentration during stamping leading to localized cracking; uneven wall thickness due to complex material flow requirements; and the need for smooth, safe edges without compromising aesthetics.
After multiple rounds of design discussions—from sketches to 3D modeling—we refined the shape proportions together with the client. We adopted a progressive stamping process, breaking the complex shape into multiple steps to avoid excessive thinning from single-pass forming. For curved transitions, we optimized die radii and used material flow simulation to ensure uniform wall thickness and structural stability.
After several rounds of sampling and adjustments, the final samples met the client’s requirements for precision, structural integrity, and surface finish.
The first batch of custom-shaped containers was successfully delivered for the client’s holiday limited-edition gift set. Their feedback: “The unique shape makes our products stand out on the shelf. Customers can recognize our brand without even looking at the label.”
